I've tried getting at the installed partition using the 14.04 live
image. When I go to the console:

# cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda4 foo
# mount /dev/mapper/foo /mnt

Cryptsetup accepts the decryption password ok, but mount gives the error
"mount: unknown filesystem type 'LVWM2_member'"

Title:
cryptsetup : failed bad passphrase or options

Status in “cryptsetup” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The 2014-10-17.1 Alternate image for PPC runs through the installation and appears to allow creation of an encrypted LVM. However, when the installed system boots, it cannot get past unlocking the disk. The error is "cryptsetup:
failed, bad password or options?" What should have happened is that the password is accepted and the disk is unencrypted.
