Bug description:
  today I was playing with some wireless configurations that worked well many times in the past monts on ubuntu 10.04 and in the last two or three weeks on ubuntu 12.04 without problems.
  Today, using hostapd, from a certain point, I have seen a message regarding the wireless dongle:
  "Failed to update rate sets in kernel module"
  The wireless key is based on the rt73usb module and has worked very well for a long time.
  So I thought the problem could be module loading, or a lost or corrupted configuration on the system: what to do better than reinstall kernel and kernel modules? Also because I'm not able to read/modify so important files and, after all, the package system has ever worked well.
  This is all I've done on the system.
  For the wireless configurations I don't use the /etc/ files, I use little .sh scripts and command line, in order to avoid create problems in the configuration files.
