There have been a few point releases since the 12.04 release of Ubuntu.
Try downloading the latest one and installing it to see if that resolves
the crash.  Thanks and good luck!

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hi,

  I'm a french user and i tried to install Ubuntu.
  After selected my language, my keyboard, and my password... I had an error message.
  So i can't install Ubuntu on my laptop for the moment.
  Can you help me? Did you have some french guys to help me?
  I can chat via Skype if necessary with my desktop.
