It looks like this was incorrectly assigned to grub-installer because
you appear to have used a persistent mode usb stick to install a number
of systems over time, and your logs show a problem with an earlier
install. The most recent install appears to have failed due to not
being able to mount the target filesystem, after having several
instances of lzma killed by the oom killer for some reason.
Are you able to reproduce this with a hopefully fresh memory stick (
without all of the logs from previous installs ), and if so, can you
also attach /var/log/dpkg.log?
