Public bug reported:

This is my error message:

"Could not calculate the upgrade

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command
'ubuntu-bug update-manager' in a terminal."

Your guidelines below assume I have a clue on how to do anything that is
described below. I don't. I have no clue why this computer isn't
working and I am lucky I found instructions to get this far. It would
be nice to get help resolving this issue since I am struggling to get
onto FireFox due to an inability to upgrade to the new release of Ubuntu
and I cannot upgrade FireFox rendering some websites completely useless
until I upgrade. Making guidelines and their instructions dummy proof
would be nice, but since those aren't available. I am at a loss to help
you figure out the problem with Ubuntu any further.

Sincerely, Tom Danner
