  utopic i386 alternate installer does not find kernel

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  To reproduce boot the dialy live utopic-alternate-i386 daily from
  10-13. Then continue through testcase 1437 to install to the entire
  disk it will create paritions write to disk and then try to load
  kenrel and say it failed ot load the kernel.

  
  Ubuntu 14.10 utopic unicorn i386

  the version of debian installer is 
  debian-installer (20101020ubuntu348)

  I expected this to install a kernel and boot instead the installation
  could not find a kernel.
