Title:
plymouthd crashed with SIGSEGV in script_obj_deref_direct()

Status in “plymouth” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Reporting as new as I'm on Trusty and the previous reports were for
  previous versions.

I was rebooting to get out of a window manager crash caused by
attempting vmware unity mode, though I don't suppose that's relevant
to what happens *after* the boot.

What may be more relevant is that yesterday I'd (apparently
successfully) converted this install to be uefi-based rather than
legacy-bios based. This wasn't the first reboot since then though. But
(slightly disappointingly) since then the boot has actually been a bit
slower and with a couple of screenfuls of console text flashing up on
  the way through.
