Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu
better.

I see the same difference with usb-creator-gtk (package-version) 0.2.62
on Ubuntu Vivid. Presumably there's an internal version number which
hasn't been updated in sync with the package version number.

Bug description:
  The program thinks it is an older version than the version indicated
  in the package.  Either the wrong code was packaged, or the version
  string was not updated to reflect the current version:

  $ dpkg -S /usr/bin/usb-creator-gtk
  usb-creator-gtk: /usr/bin/usb-creator-gtk

  $ dpkg -l usb-creator-gtk
  ii  usb-creator-gt 0.2.62       amd64        create a startup disk using a CD
