Title:
Not possible to customize order of os-prober generated entries without
grub.cfg hacking.(original: Separate os-prober script to per operating
system.)
Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
It's more handy to adjust os order when script is separated per
operating system instead of classifying only ubuntu itself/all others.
For now if I would like to place Windows entries(which is generated by
/etc/grub.d/30_os-prober) above Ubuntu itself(/etc/grub.d/10_linux) I
have to rename the script to something like 09_os-prober, however
other OSs beside Windows will also move forward.
If we split os-prober script to per OS family like the scripts under /usr/lib/os-probes/mounted
`````
05efi* 10qnx* 20microsoft* 40lsb* 80minix* 90linux-distro* 10freedos* 20macosx* 30utility* 70hurd* 83haiku* 90solaris*
`````
it'll be much elegant to accomplish the same task.
