I feel dumb now.... the file got corrupted when I moved it to the stick.
I downloaded it again and now it works. Can be closed, sorry.

Title:
installer crashes when installing on btrfs

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
When installing Ubuntu 14.10 on a btrfs partition, the installer
  crashes when copying data.

  This is my partition layout:

/dev/sda1: 173 GB EXT4 partition (other os, ignore)
/dev/sda2: 81 GB NTFS partition (windows)
  /dev/sda4: extended
  |--- /dev/sda5: 1 GB EXT4 partition (mounted as /boot)
  |--- /dev/sda6: 40 GB BTRFS Partition (mounted as /)
  /dev/sda3: 4 GB swap

The installer crashes with an "Input / Output Error". The ISO is
valid, I checked the MD5 multiple times and tried with different
  sticks.
