hit alt + F2 and entered kubuntu-devel-release-upgrade
a window pop-up: Upgrading Ubuntu to version 14.04
Preparing to Upgrade -> OK
Setting new software channels ->
a window pop-up
Can't install 'kubuntu-desktop'
It was impossible to install a required package. Please report this
as a bug using 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.
hit close
another window pop-up
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This can be caused by:
Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
If none of this applies, then report this bug using the command
'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal
then I hit Close and the program stopped
