  apt-get update not able to fetch index files

Status in “apt” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I'm trying to check for updates and apt-get update gives me errors
  that it can't fetch the archives, but i have an active internet
  connection and i checked and i can open up the repo's in my browser
  just fine.
