Title:
bash completion escapes the dollar sign preceding a variable when it
shouldn't
Status in “bash-completion” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Run these commands to reproduce the problem:
$ touch xxx
$ ls $PWD/x (now press TAB)
The line completes like this:
ls \$PWD/xxx
with a slash in front of the dollar sign.
If you run "complete -r", the problem goes away, and the line
