At some point (forgot to write it down) setting INSTALL_DEVICE made
grub-install work for me, but this might be unrelated, i.e. forget about
the environment variables if they doen't influence the program.
Maybe a hint to `info grub` could be added and that it is necessary to
read through it in order to understand the manpage.

Title:
create a manpage for grub-install
Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
The manpage of grub-install 2.02~beta2-9 is not yet ready to provide
the information which is necessary to use the program, assuming that
one should be able to work with the program after reading the manpage
(`info grub-install` provides some more information but it's still
rather incomplete). The review should include the resolution of the
following issues:
* There's a difference between installing on a HDD with a msdos partition table and a GPT -> document or add hint that there's none (in case I experienced errornous error messages)
* There's a different between BIOS and EFI installation -> document
* Document all arguments which are supported for legacy reasons (some of them do something, e.g. `--root-directory` break the installation) (see also https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+question/246173)
* some arguments seem to require environment variables to be set (maybe only legacy arguments) -> document
* some arguments seem to require flags on partitions to be set, e.g. `bios_boot` -> document
