Public bug reported:
(Originally posted this in here:
http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1001780/comments/23 , was told to
make a new bug report.)
Upgraded from 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS. "apt-get update" check now
downloaded enormous amounts of data from the repositories (37meg+, in my
case), even when the remote repository files/indexes are still the same.
Seems to be a duplicate/regression of these bugs:
http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1001780 and
http://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/1001886
** Affects: apt (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
