  Grub-installer crashed when I put it into a partition in hard drive.

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  I tried to install Ubuntu 14.04 into an HP 2000 notebook.  When I
  instructed installer to place boot record into the efi partition of
  the notebook hard drive (rather than the hard drive as a whole), the
  grub-installer crashed.
