Title:
Python wrapper for liblvm2app.so is missing in built lvm2 package

Status in “lvm2” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I want to use the python wrapper for liblvm2app.so to easily access
the LVM subsystem to do some automation for backup purposes.

The python wrapper is included in the lvm2 package sources, but does not get built. The build log says:
checking whether to build Python wrapper for liblvm2app.so... no

I ask the maintainers of the lvm2 package to enable the --enable-
python_bindings switch for the build process, so that the lvm2 package
  will contain the python extensions.

Pyhton is already used/active/installed during the build process and
in the default installation of ubuntu.

  Thank you!
