Hello Yang, or anyone else affected,

Accepted grub2 into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/1.99-21ubuntu3.15
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu Precise)
Status: In Progress => Fix Committed

Bug description:
  backport upstream commits to precise-updates
  2b23074a0c082219fe4490fa05b13a481b34b41e(partial),
  e89c2d48a991590c18c28ac867ccda67d4425187 and
  44d47bbe6fe6ed0c8fc5855c07b2917a38371ae4 to support high resolution
  for grub terminal.

  Upstream bug: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?39682

  [Impact]

When entering GRUB menu on a high resolution computer (resolution >
2040), the boot menu has been compressed into a much smaller
rectangle in the far left of the display, likely 20% of the screen.

  [Test Case]

Press shift if booting as legacy or ESC if booting as EFI to enter
GRUB menu on a high resolution computer. See the output of GRUB menu.

  [Regression Potential]

The patch mostly changes terminal part of GRUB. So testing should
focus on the gfxterm and console output and input.
