I have just discovered i have the same problem. Moving from 13.10 to
14.04

Is there a link i can use to manually make the cryptswap with fixed key?

  When trying to create a new encrypted physical volume using the Kubuntu Trusty installer, partition creation fails with "An error occurred while creating the keyfile".  Alas, no further information is provided.
