I restored the partition image and thereby probably destroyed the info.
Anyway.

If someone cares, in my role as granny, I clicked the reboot button in the tray
even though there was quiet some ruckus in the performance monitor.  Nothing
told me how far the restore operation had come.  Also, I didn't get a prompt for
solving any configuration change (or so) up to that point.  Maybe the first of
those was the reason.

Thanks, I noted the tips how to proceed and will try next time.
