Title:
all etc/'s got replaced during installation
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
i did a backup of the system before installing a fresh ubuntu 14.04
i had a 32bit 13.10 and backed it up and installed 64bit 14.04
i did:
mkdir /tmp/sda3
mount /dev/sda3 /tmp/sda3
mkdir /tmp/sda3/WANAHAT
mv /tmp/sda3/* /tmp/sda3/WANAHAT
umount /tmp/sda3
and then started the installation process.
installed the system on sda3
After intsallation, i noticed that my backup wasn't intact.
/WANAHAT/etc was replaced with the new installations /etc so /etc/ and /WANAHAT/etc/ were identical after installation.
I needed the /WANAHAT/etc since my configuration files were there (vdr
for example)
