Well, I have none of that text output in #1066347 since I'm using the
GUI installer, but I saw this message today while reinstalling 14.04
today. I guess it's not a duplicate, since that one was allegedly
fixed in 12.10. The message is almost completely useless since it
doesn't tell me (a) which applications failed to install, and (b) why.

Title:
ubiquity: Error restoring installed applications
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Testing today's ISO image on an Lenovo X220i:
Image: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20120822/quantal-desktop-amd64.iso following ISO test case:
Testcase: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/219/builds/21646/testcases/1300/results
Got to near the end of the installation and got the error dialog box:
"Error restoring installed applications
An error occurred while restoring previously-installed applications. The
installation will continue, but you may have to manually reinstall some applications
after the computer reboots."
No idea what failed. Also note that the error message should perhaps
read:
"Error restoring installed applications
An error occurred while restoring previously installed applications. The
installation will continue, but you may have to manually reinstall some applications
after the computer reboots."
..i.e. replace "previously-installed" with "previously installed".
