[Bug 1270666] [NEW] Complains of "unresolvable problem" but no details presented

Public bug reported:

See below for output. But basically I can't upgrade to trusty from
saucy using the upgrader because it complains of an "unresolvable
problem" but doesn't tell me what. If I hack sources.list to trusty and
do a manual apt-get dist-upgrade it does not report any problem.

So two things:
 1. is the release upgrader broken?
 2. For goodness sake, print the actual damn error message to the screen.
