Sorry, Launchpad (dpkg) is forcing all builds to be native and native does
not allow revisions in the version

Title:
packaging has native version but is actually quilt

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
In the grub2 changelog we see the version is grub2 (2.00-22), a native
  version.

But the package actually carries quilt patches

New changes to dpkg in trusty make launchpad builds of this package
  fail because of the mismatch
