Can you try replacing /usr/share/ltsp/nbd-disconnect in the chroot, with this file?

Then run ltsp-update-image, reboot client, and see if it fixes things.

  Server: 12.04 i386
  Client: 12.04 i386

  I'm using ltsp with nbdroot and under some hardware configurations
  http://pastebin.com/aVHUcDse the system will hang up on a shutdown
  (only a hard reset will fix that). I'm getting the same squashfs
  errors like in the bugreport above.
