This probably has something to do with the unofficial version of libc6
that you have installed.

Broken tar:amd64 PreDepends on libc6 [ amd64 ] < 2.15-0ubuntu10+openvz0 -> 2.17-0ubuntu5.1 > ( libs ) (>= 2.17)
  Considering libc6:amd64 12821 as a solution to tar:amd64 5344
  Holding Back tar:amd64 rather than change libc6:amd64
