Bug description:
  Binary package hint: dpkg

  When the above package did not load properly, the system hung and then
  crashed.  It also wouldn't allow me to use the SYNAPTIC PACKAGE
  MANAGER until I rebooted and ran it through a system repair mode on a
  prior kernel.
