  can't install grub

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  When trying to install Ubuntu to the /dev/sdb4 partition, I can't
  install the grub bootloader anywhere, not t /dev/sda, /dev/sdb, or
  any partitions on either device.  The machine contains a MacOS X
  installation on /dev/sda2 and Windows 8.1 on /dev/sda3 and currently
  uses the Windows bootloader as the default one.  /dev/sda1 is the
  current EFI boot partition.
