Public bug reported:
during install to a iscsi drive the installer (using netbootet 14.04 BETA) choose a random
initiatorname in the form
iqn.1993-08.org.debian:01:afadfcc960dd
or
iqn.1993-08.org.debian:01:1a9a2ac41d44
if the target in use ist based on the LIO target than there is no option to allow
every initator for the target :-(
so you must start installation. look at the server logfile for the initiatorname,
add it via targetcli and try again to log into the target; very annoying :-(
i have tried to edit the local initiatorfile (during another terminal)
but that changed the initatorname any more.
solution(s):
1)
the installer asks for target-ip, username, password, ...
and it optionaly asks for reverse-username und reverse password
just add a OPTIONAL question for the initatorname (maybe the first question)
if user presses just enter (like by username, ..) it chooses a default random
name like before
2) read the initatorname via DHCP, option 203. or via IBFT
** Affects: open-iscsi (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
