[Bug 1279829] [NEW] gcc-4.8 ftbfs xorg-server on ppc64el with array-bounds error

Public bug reported:

See https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/2:1.15.0-1ubuntu5

This appears to be a false positive because the array could already go
out of bounds sooner. I added a workaround by checking for the array
size, but I have no idea if it will work or not.

** Affects: gcc-4.8 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
