The 3.3 -> 3.4 switch should be done in python3-defaults, so shouldn't
be related to dh-python merge.

As Sebastien said, I have prepared a merge (not sync, but the delta
greatly reduced).

Bug description:
  Mostly a reminder to myself, although I won't complain if someone
  beats me to it.  (If you do, please steal the assigned to field.)

  Note however that doko wants to coordinate any upload here with his
  test rebuild, running with 3.4 as default.

  % rmadison -u debian dh-python | grep sid
   dh-python | 1.20140128-1         | sid              | source, all
  % rmadison dh-python | grep trusty
