Title:
Distribute is deprecated and not maintained

Status in “distribute” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Distribute is a fork of Setuptools. Since march, Distribute and
Setuptools was merged[1] (the old name was prefered[2]) and 9 versions
of Setuptools was released (the last one is Setuptools 2.0). But
Distribute disallows installing Setuptools 0.7+ over Distribute. Some
tools doesn't work with Distribute (like Buildout[3]). Secondly, and
more importantly Distribute is deprecated. Please switch from
  Distribute to Setuptools.
