Bug description:
  Thank you for your wonderful work on Ubuntu. I recently upgraded to
  14.10 and I'm enjoying it.

  In Ubuntu 14.04, the prompt was visible on all attached screens, including the laptop display. After upgrading to 14.10, the password prompt is only visible on the external screen, making it hard to enter the password when the notebook is hooked to for example a TV. Also, the primary screen being black and TV turned off, my wife thought that the notebook was frozen and malfunctional.
