Grub can not be installed to sda because it has no partitions on it.
The simplest thing to do is to just create a partition on the disk.  If
you want to install grub to a different disk ( and configure your bios
to boot from it ) then you have to choose the something else option and
select that disk first.  Trying to change the disk after it has failed
once will only fail again due to a different known bug.
