Chris Lewis, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. A number of issues were noticed:
1) It would appear you grabbed a deb of flightgear and installed it into
Precise? If so, this and any other manually installed debs would need to
be removed, and if available natively in the Precise Ubuntu repository
(not manually installed if available in a later version of Ubuntu)
replaced with the ones from the Precise Ubuntu repository.
2) You have a slew of PPA entries in your sources file. Please remove
these entries entirely (not rely on Ubuntu to disable them) remove all
PPA software installed from these archives.
3) You have an unsupported kernel as outlined in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack . You would want to
upgrade to a supported kernel.
4) Once these are resolved, please execute the following in a terminal, and then re-attempt the upgrade to 14.04:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade
If after doing all these steps you are unable to upgrade, please file a
new report (not re-open this one).
Thank you for your understanding.

I don't think there's anything whatsoever unusual with this install.
It's fairly basic with mythtv .027, and ntopng.
