On boot, journalctl reports this error:
[/lib/systemd/system/friendly-recovery.service:14] Executable path is not absolute, ignoring: dmesg --console-off

The fix is:
sed 's#dmesg#/bin/dmesg#' /lib/systemd/system/friendly-recovery.service
