Public bug reported:

Currently in utopic the following happens when booting an encrypted
setup:

We press enter in grub, after a while screen turns completely black and
stays like this. When I press the down key, I can see the password
prompt. When I press the up key again, I get to the graphical password
prompt.

Maybe this is related to the version of plymouth utopic currently uses,
a similar debian bug report seems to be resolved with a newer version
0.9.0-6, see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=752752.

** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
