It appears that you used manual partitioning and your disk is
partitioned using gpt, but you have neither a bios_grub, nor an efi
system partition.  You will need to create one of these depending on
whether you want to boot in efi or bios mode.

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Install of Trusty Tahr stalled, info was that Grub couldn't be installed, next the Install routine was reported crashed. Install was running from USB drive onto an Uefi system.
