Okay

$> ppa-purge ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers

seems to get me past this error. I hope I wont get any graphics issues
after the upgrade. Thank you

  Cannot upgrade to 14.04 from 13.10

Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  In step 2 of 6 ("Setting new software sources") after fetching files I
  get a

  Could not calculate the upgrade:
  An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

  This can be caused by:
   * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
   * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

  If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command
  'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.

  Any ideas?
