Title:
  upgrade fail 13.10 - 14.04

Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I updated 13.10 fully and then rebooted.

  I then launched the software updater.

  On launching updater I am offered upgrade from 13.10 to 14.04.

  The release tool starts successfully.

  I receive a warning message: "Third party sources disabled.  Some
  third party entries in your sources.list were disabled. You can re-
  enable them after the upgrade with the 'software-properties' tool or
  your package manager."  I clicked the Close button.

  The release tool then began fetching files.

  Before this is complete the upgrader stops with the following failure
  message: An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the
  upgrade. This can be caused by: * Upgrading to a pre-release version
  of Ubuntu * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu *
  Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu.

  I am running the released version of 13.10.
  I am not upgrading to a pre-release version of 14.04 - at least not knowingly.
  I don't think I have any unofficial software packages (but how would I find out?).

  I consider this a bug as the upgrader does not provide any way forward
  (such as identifying how to tell what the problem is; or even offering
  to solve it).
