Public bug reported:

Description: Ubuntu 13.04
Release: 13.04

I was upgrading from 13.04 to 13.10 using the GUI tool provided by KDE, the upgrade started well, but then suddenly reported "Could not calculate the upgrade"
Unfortunately there is not much information provided by the updater. This is what I can see on the screen:
--------------
Upgrading Kubuntu to version 13.10
Preparing to upgrade
Setting new software channels -> failed
Progress bar showing 99%
"Fetching is complete"
--------------
I'm running Lenovo Thinkpad E530 with 64-bit system. There are some additional packages installed on my system, both from additionals PPA and "stand-alone", the most significant I can think of are Darktable and Lotus Notes.
Upgrading my other laptop few days ago went well.

This bug has been reported multiple times, but always closed as
"invalid" or "expired". However it is still appearing.
