Title:
Ubuntu 14.04 install blocks Windows 8.1 from booting in dual boot

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
My computer is 5 months old. Was dual booting Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu
13.10. No issues. Did a clean install of 14.04 final beta to the
partition which had 13.10. Upon restart, I can only boot to Ubuntu. If
I try windows from grub menu, it reverts right back to Ubuntu. If I
try windows from a bios selection before loading grub, as soon as I
select windows, grub appears, and will only load Ubuntu. Ubuntu is
installed in efi mode. Ubuntu and windows both are in the efi
partition. I ran the boot-utility for saucy since I didn't find one
for 14.10. It did not fix the problem. As of now, I'm locked out of
Windows 8.1. Another person had the exactly the same thing happen both
on the first install with 13.10 where Ubuntu would not boot, and now
on the upgrade to 14.04 where windows 8.1 will not boot. See
  http://askubuntu.com/questions/447568/windows-8-entry-in-grub-not-
  working

Version: Description:	Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)
  Release:	14.04

Grub 2.02~beta2-8 - All check boxes in synaptic for grub are grayed
  with an ! point in.
