Title:
Need scripting for automatic ubiquity: post commands
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: casper
Automatic ubiquity needs some scripting hooks for running scripts
after it has finished the install.
None of the scripts need to have any user-interaction at all.
Scripts should have the target install system available as well as the
/cdrom filesystem.
The purpose of these scripts is for the Dell factory install.
Typically, during these scripts we install fixes for high-severity
bugs affecting Dell machines, such as updated debs, scripts to fix
various bugs, etc.
We also use this hook to tell the Dell factory process the
success/failure of the install and to tell the factory install process
to proceed to the next stage. This implies that the hook needs to run
on both success and failure of the install (this could also be
possible through different scripts running on success vs failure.)
