Title:
Off-by-one error in interpretation of ECH (erase character)
Status in Gnome Virtual Terminal Emulator:
Fix Released
Status in “vte3” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
VTE 0.32.0 and earlier doesn't correctly interpret the ECH (CSI Ps X)
sequence with back-color erase. If the last cell to be erased (the
Ps'th cell) is uninitialized, VTE does not fill it with the background
color. See <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/670037>.
This bug is sometimes triggered by mosh <http://mosh.mit.edu/>.
It’s fixed upstream in VTE 0.32.1, which is an upstream microrelease
with exactly three changes over 0.32.0:
- pty: Fix custom child setup function <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/672649>
- leak fix in vte_draw_set_text_font() <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/672757>
- emulation: Fix off-by-one error in interpretation of ECH <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/670037>
