Ok I have found the problem - wrong boot loader device selection. I have
left the preselected /dev/sda which did not work together with /dev/dm-1
raid selection.

Installer died in the middle of the file copying with no apparent
reason reported. I am unable to asses if it is a duplicate of any of
the existing RAID related issues.
