/dev/sda1 : 554 MB (/boot of Elementary OS)
swap : 6144 MB (swap for both OSs)
/dev/sda5 : 400 GB (/ of Elementary OS)
/dev/sda6 : 330 GB (/ of Ubuntu 14.04 daily)

NEW DISK LAYOUT

/dev/sda1 : 512 MB (/boot of Ubuntu 14.04 Final Beta)

INSTALLATION

Installation proceeded smoothly, downloading language packs, updates,
etc.  All downloaded packages were unpacked and configured properly.  I
saw messages such as `Setting up hardware', `Setting clock', etc.

Later, the crash happened while installing package `grub2`.

When I tried to reboot into the computer, as can be expected, `grub`
dropped into a rescue shell.

(I am adding this comment by booting into the Live image.)
