Public bug reported:

I was installing the daily build of Ubuntu 14.04 via a live session USB,
using one partition as /home and another as /, both ext4. It all
appeared to be going well until it came time to install grub2, and the
installer stopped and told me "grub cannot be installed to /dev/sda1.
This is a fatal error." and kicked me out of the installer.

I had previously been able to install this image fine booting from USB,
but this time I tried it using the UEFI boot option from the same USB,
and got this error.
