[Bug 1300943] [NEW] parted unable to inform kernel of partition change

Public bug reported:

The attached drivemap works on Precise for raid + lvm but does not work
on Trusty.

It throws the following message:

Partion(s) 1 on /dev/mapper/bootdisk-root have been written, but we are
unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are
in use. As a result, the old partition(s)  will remain use. You should
reboot now before making further changes.
