I've just removed ReiserFS support from the Ubuntu installer; see
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-
devel/2013-September/037659.html for the rationale. I'm afraid that if
this bug hasn't been fixed along the way then it now isn't going to be.

Title:
Ubuntu installer can't create large ReiserFS partitions

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

Ubuntu installer can't create large (about 200-250 GB) ReiserFS
partition. It displays strange error message like "cannot have the end
before the start". HDD can be clean, or with existing partitions -
  that doesn't matter.

Gparted and other partitioning tools work perfectly.

  Ubuntu 7.04 i386 Desktop CD
