Public bug reported:

I tried to create a partition for swap on Windows 8 shrinking 4GB of
space from C drive of Windows 8. When I tried to restart it showed an
error "unknown grub file" or something like that and gave me a prompt
"grub_rescue". I couldn't boot Windows at all, neither could I boot
Ubuntu. I tried to use my Live DVD to reinstall, but when I selected the
installation drive for the previous Ubuntu installation, I accidentally
clicked on the "Format" check box and it immediately got formatted. I
clicked on "Install Now" button anyway and ubi-partman crashed. I am not
sure what to do now, because this leaves me with a system with no
operating system that I can boot. Is there any way I can fix this?
